It won’t be long until the clocks go back, and this can only means one thing WINTER IS COMING! With the temperatures dropping and the elements changing this means that our carpets and flooring are going to need that little extra protection from the debris and dirt that is inevitably going to come in with you and your animals. Fear not we have 3 ways you can protect your carpets and flooring this winter.
Ensure that you place door mats both inside and outside your doors. This encourages guests to wipe their feet before they enter and helps you stop bringing in any unwanted dirt or debris. For any dirty boots or wellies we would also recommend investing in a tray or plastic box to keep them in whilst they dry off.
2. Towel Dry Pets
Pets can get wet and dirty at the best of times, but winter definitely makes your animals extra soggy. By leaving a towel near the front or back door it will allow you to dry off your pets before they come in the house. This will prevent as little dirt as possible coming in with your furry friends.
3. Salt Sweep
With winter and cold mornings, comes the gritters. It won’t be long until the gritters will be covering the streets, which means that your shoes and boots are going to start collecting it. The grit can scratch your wooden floors and collect in the fibres of your carpet. To ensure it doesn’t make it past the door regularly vacuum and sweep.
