So you’ve picked out your colour scheme, found the ideal furniture for the room, got the most stunning textiles to add just the right amount of texture, and filled your rooms with accessories to give them that homely feeling. Still think you’re missing something? To add the perfect finishing touch to any room in the house you can add a rug. Here at Tailored Flooring we just love our rug collections and here’s 5 reasons why rugs are the perfect addition to your home…
1. Enhance your decor
Probably the most obvious reason is to make your room that little bit better. Rugs are a great addition and come in almost every size, colour and material. You won’t have any problem finding one to match your taste, colour scheme or room size. Rugs are a great way to add a little more texture, and to break up your floor space.
2. Keeps the noise down
This is an added benefit of a rug, but popping a rug on hardwood floors means that the noise that is created from walking on it is minimised. This will definitely keep the neighbours happy if you live in a flat or apartment.
3. Adds comfort
We all know hardwood floors aren’t the comfiest floors to walk around on, so with the addition of a rug it increases the comfort for your feet around the house. Even if you do have carpets that are comfortable, a rug can offer added warmth over the winter months; I know we definitely need this here in Bristol.
4. Reduces Echoes
All houses are different, but some can be extra echoey. If this sounds like your house, you will find by adding more furniture or items to a room that they will start to absorb the sound. We recommend placing down a rug in areas that seem to echo a lot to absorb more of the sound.
5. Increase safety of flooring
If your home has a lot of wooden flooring or luxury vinyl you will know that it isn’t as safe as a carpet; especially if you have little ones running around. By putting a rug down it decreasing the likelihood of the kids taking a tumble. We would recommend getting rug liners to make sure that they stay in place, to prevent them from becoming a hazard.
